색, 서울을 물들이다
<꽃 Day 서울>은 자연의 생명력이 넘치는 여름의 한 가운데에서, 보태니컬 아트라는 장르를 통하여 도시와 생태와의 간극을 좁혀 보고자 한다.
보태니컬 아트란 식물의 실제 모습에 초점을 두고 이를 예술적 관점에서 그림으로 표현하는 분야로, 식물의 특징을 섬세하게 묘사하는 세밀화이다. 최근에는 식물학 자료로서의 입지와 장식 미술로서의 입지로 나뉘어 혼용되고 있는 개념이다.
주변에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 식물일지라도 우리가 식물 본연의 라이프 사이클을 관찰할 수 있는 기회는 많지 않다. 한국보태니컬아트 협동조합은 이번 전시를 통해 서울 시민들에게 국내외 다양한 식물의 모습을 보고 느끼며, 자연이 줄 수 있는 원초적인 안정감과 풍요로움을 선사해 주고자 한다.
Blooming Days in Seoul
In the height of summer full of vitality of nature, features a genre of botanical art, aiming to narrow the gap between a city and the ecology.
Botanical art focuses on the actual appearance of plants or flowers, and expresses them with an artistic point of view. It is a picture with detailed descriptions of the characteristics of a certain plant or flower. Recently, it is used both as botanical materials and as a decorative art.
We have a rare opportunity to observe the life cycle of plants even though they are commonly seen around us. Through this exhibition, the Korea Botanical Arts Cooperative presents the citizens of Seoul with a chance to see a variety of plants from home and abroad, while providing a sense of stability and abundance that nature can give.

한국보태니컬아트 협동조합은 국내외 보태니컬 아트 작가들이 모여 설립한 협동조합입니다. 국내외 전시 및 출판, 교육, 박람회 등의 다양한 행사 참여를 통하여 조합 작가들의 왕성한 활동을 지원하고, 보태니컬 아트의 발전을 도모하고 있습니다. 또한 다양한 해외 활동을 통하여, 해외 문화 콘텐츠 교류의 장을 넓히고자 합니다.
The Korea Botanical Arts Cooperative is an organization founded by Korean and international botanical artists. Through various events, such as exhibitions, publications, education, and art fairs, both at home and abroad, it supports art activities of member artists from the Cooperative, and also promotes the development of botanical arts. In addition, it performs various overseas activities to expand a platform for cultural exchanges.

Painting in details with family
세밀화 작가와 함께 식물을 관찰하고 그리는 과정을 체험해 볼 수 있습니다. 꽃을 분해해 보고 구조를 살펴 본 후, 세밀화를 직접 채색하여 하나의 작품을 완성해 보는 시간입니다.
Allow the participants to experience by themselves the artist's refined working world. In particular, observation of plants in details gives the mystery of life, patience, and a high level of art expressiveness.
