​하고 싶은 마음이 생기는 방향 또는 그런 경향처럼 우리는 수많은 취향 속에서 살아간다. 이번 전시 <민화취향>에서는 관람객에게 특별한 예술적 취향을 제안한다. 창작 민화는 스토리가 있는 작품으로 어린아이부터 어른까지 쉽게 접근할 수 있다. 그 이유는 사실적인 표현법에서 벗어난 해학을 담은 표현 그림이기 때문이다. 평소 미술작품을 보며 작가 의도를 유추하기 어려웠던 경험이 있다면 이번 전시에서는 작품을 보며 마음껏 상상하고 모든 관람객이 스토리 작가가 되는 경험을 해보길 권한다. 민화에 담긴 긍정적 위안의 메시지로 서울시민들의 마음속에 행복이 채워지길 바란다.

‘행복의 색으로 복을 담은 그림을 그리다’

​작품 속에서 행복이라는 이미지를 시각화하고 색으로 느껴 질 수 있도록 전달한다. 그와 더불어 민화의 상징적 요소들을 가져와 복을 담는 작업을 하고 있다. 민화는 일반적으로 전통(재현) 민화와 창작 민화로 구분한다. 그 중 나의 분야는 창작 민화로 이는 과거를 바탕으로 현대를 재해석하면서 시작한다. 조형적인 부분의 기법(덧선, 바림, 문양)과 공간구성, 색채 등 전통을 기반하여 작업하며 길상의 의미를 담은 소재들로 행복의 공간을 그려낸다. <#밥>,

Minhwa, traditional folk paintings, offer accessible narratives to people of all ages. Through expressive and imaginative depictions that transcend realism, these artworks convey captivating stories. For those who have ever struggled to grasp the artist's intentions while appreciating artworks, we invite you to immerse yourself in this exhibition and freely explore your imagination as you engage with the pieces. "Painting Blessings with Colors of Happiness"

Through my artworks, I visualize happiness and endeavor to convey the experience of joy through vibrant hues. Additionally, I incorporate symbolic elements from Minhwa to infuse blessings into my creations. Minhwa encompasses two distinct categories: traditional (reproduction) and creative Minhwa. As an artist specializing in creative Minhwa, I reinterpret the present while drawing inspiration from the past to initiate my artistic process. Employing techniques such as brushwork, traditional patterns, spatial composition, and color schemes rooted in tradition, I evoke spaces of happiness imbued with good fortune. My works, including <#Bap> and the series, carry messages of comfort, empathy, happiness, and hope. By disregarding proportional relationships and perspectives, I depict Minhwa in compositions that stimulate imaginative narratives through the personification of animals. With my artworks, I aspire to share warmth and happiness with the audience, fostering communication and connection.
